Holiday Concert Matinee Schedule

The Holiday Concert Matinee schedule is as follows:

RBE: Wednesday, Dec. 16 @ 8:30am

BE: Thursday, Dec. 17 @ 1:30pm

FAE: Friday, Dec. 18 @ 8:30am

Please feel free to invite any parents, grandparents, etc, to these matinee performances of our district elementary band and orchestra!

Objectives for 5th Grade Band

Studying instrumental music in the 5th grade band program will broaden players' ability and understanding in the following areas:

1. Development of proper posture, breathing and tone production.
2. Development of music reading skills and rhythm skills.
3. Memorization of new notes and fingerings as introduced.
4. (For percussionists) development of rudiments as they are introduced while using correct stickings, playing accurate rhythms and tapping the steady beat.
5. Proper instrumental rehearsal techniques/habits.
6. Sensitivity to appropriate musical styles.

7. Appropriate stage presence and etiquette.

8. Leadership

9. Teamwork, accountability and responsibility.
