Parent Teacher Conference Schedule

My Parent Teacher Conference Schedule for Feb. 2 is as follows:

RBE: 1:30-3:30

BE: 3:30-5:30

FAE: 6:30-9:00

Please feel free to stop in at any of the campuses whenever it is convenient for you, regardless of which campus your child attends.

Objectives for 5th Grade Band

Studying instrumental music in the 5th grade band program will broaden players' ability and understanding in the following areas:

1. Development of proper posture, breathing and tone production.
2. Development of music reading skills and rhythm skills.
3. Memorization of new notes and fingerings as introduced.
4. (For percussionists) development of rudiments as they are introduced while using correct stickings, playing accurate rhythms and tapping the steady beat.
5. Proper instrumental rehearsal techniques/habits.
6. Sensitivity to appropriate musical styles.

7. Appropriate stage presence and etiquette.

8. Leadership

9. Teamwork, accountability and responsibility.
